Bethany Mota, known by her YouTube username MacBarbie07, is an American beauty guru, vlogger and YouTube celebrity. As of January 2014, Bethany Mota's YouTube channel, MacBarbie07, has over 4.8 million subscribers and over 372 million video views.

Bethany Mota was born in Modesto, California on November 7, 1995. Bethany was home-schooled along with her older sister Brittney for most of her life. In her spare time, she browsed YouTube and discovered the Beauty Community on it.

Early life Bethany Mota was born in Los Banos, California. She lived with her father Tony, her mother Tammy and her five year apart sister Brittany, another fellow YouTuber. As a child, Mota admitted that she was a shy tomboy growing up compared to what she has turned into. She also admitted that she was a mean toddler; "I would pull my sister's hair down to the floor, and she cried, and called for our mom."

Mota and her sister were home-schooled by their mother until she was in third grade, where she was told to attend public school. When she was in tenth grade, Mota convinced her mother to drop out and go back to home-schooling, where she enrolled in dance lessons and attended acting and singing classes. She also competed in a lot of dancing competitions and acted in an Annie play. Mota confessed that back in sixth grade, she was being bullied by her close friend; "They made a fake MySpace page of me, and started putting really nasty comments on everything." She also admitted that the said friend decided to turn her two closest friends against her, and make them hate her. The plan succeeded, which affected Mota's feelings, her eating and her anxiety issues. She decided to quit her lessons because of the anxiety attacks; "All I wanted to do was sit in bed all day. I couldn't get up to do anything, I was just really upset, really sad. I had really negative thoughts all the time and it really affected me."

One day, while Mota was watching YouTube videos, she discovered the beauty community. Mota got obsessed with beauty, with help from her supportive mother who bought her cosmetics.

Bethany Mota created her YouTube account in 2009 when she as 14. Her first video was a haul video titled First Video :) Mac and Sephora Haul. Her most popular video is a room tour video titled ROOM TOUR!!! (Macbarbie07). It was posted on June 30, 2013. As of August 2013, it has over 6 million views.

Bethan's goal was to help young girls feel confident in themselves and feel good about themselves. Despite her channel being about makeup, Bethany wants everyone to know that they're beautiful no matter what.

Career Mota's first video was a MAC (an expensive cosmetic brand)and Sephora (a popular cosmetic store) haul that was uploaded to YouTube on June 12, 2009. In particular, her Katy Perry Halloween tutorial, her room tours, her everyday makeup tutorial and her What's In My Purse videos brought her a million views. Mota became a YouTube advertising partner, and filmed her videos in high quality and self editing.
